About

G’day folks! My name's Cam Griffin, and I’ve spent my whole career in the ag industry, from working across multiple farming operations to advising graziers on livestock management systems, and running my own small breeding herd here in the South Burnett.

I started Speed Tagger because I’m passionate about making livestock management easier for producers. After many days battling sore hands, ripped ears, and slow, frustrating tagging when cheap manual applicators kept breaking, I knew there had to be a better way. That’s where the Speed Tagger comes in, a tough, automatic applicator that’s fast and easy on your hands.

As we improved the applicator, I began noticing similar issues in the tag market. Larger companies were competing heavily on price, and over time quality started to decline. There was also more separation between the producer and the tag company, with additional resellers involved. That often resulted in longer lead times, higher costs, and more printing errors due to miscommunication. So alongside the tagger, we introduced Tough Tags, durable tags that we print ourselves here in regional QLD, allowing for clearer communication, better accuracy, and a more straightforward identification process.

Based here in Goomeri, QLD, Speed Tagger is a small, family-run business with one clear focus, making ear tagging a seamless task. Every tagger and tag we send out is backed by my own experience, plenty of paddock testing, and a commitment to making life in the yards easier and more efficient.

When I’m not building or testing gear, you’ll usually find me behind the mic on The Grazing Game podcast, talking with other producers and industry experts about practical grazing strategies. It’s my way of sharing ideas, learning from others, and always looking for ways to improve how we manage land and livestock.
